'No Shows' & Late Cancellations MSP does not compensate us for the time and financial loss we incur due to missed appointments and we will bill you for your missed appointment. We will gladly book another appointment for you once you have paid your missed appointment in full. We realize that it is impossible to keep all appointments but we do ask that you notify us as soon as possible before your scheduled visit so that we can try to fit another patient into your slot. Cancellations after your appointment time will incur a missed appointment fee. Complete physicals require 24 hours notice of cancellation and regular appointments three hours. We keep a waiting list and can usually fit you in on short notice if other patients cancel their appointments in time.
After two ‘no shows’ or non-payment of these charges, we will close your file at this office, and if needed, help you find a more appropriate clinic for your health care needs. Please note you will receive an appointment reminder via automated phone call, email, or text. You are able to confirm or cancel your appointment via these reminders. If you don't respond, your appointment will still be on the schedule and you would have to call the office to cancel. |
Lab Results, Referrals & Phone Refills Lab results will not be given or discussed via telephone by the staff. You will always be informed by Dr. van Eeden during your visit on how the results will be relayed to you. This will be done during a follow-up visit unless specific arrangements are made, whereby the staff will call you with a test result and/or instructions for treatment (e.g. INR results and changes in blood-thinner doses). There is a nominal fee for reprinting lost prescriptions, lab requisitions, vaccination records or sick notes, unless re-issued during a follow-up visit. You can also view your lab reports on-line for free through MyCareCompass. We recommend you come in for refills at least one week prior to running out. During your visit we will always prescribe the maximum amount of medication (for stable conditions) that Pharmacare allows, in order to save you unnecessary visits. In case of an oversight during your visit we will refill most prescriptions by phone for up to one month following your visit. Call your pharmacy to request authorization for the refill from us. Pharmacies can also tie you over short-term for most stable medications until your next appointment. Please remember that you are responsible for managing your medication.
It can take a few days to arrange referrals to specialists and special investigations. We will always notify you when this has been done so there is no need to call us unless you haven’t heard from us within one week. |
